FAQs

Why do I need a notary?

Legal Requirement: Some documents, such as wills, real estate transactions, and certain contracts, require notarization to be legally valid. Notarization adds an extra layer of assurance that the parties involved are who they claim to be and that they have willingly signed the document.

Prevention of Fraud: Notaries serve as impartial witnesses to the signing of documents. They verify the identity of the signers and ensure that they are signing the document willingly and knowingly. This helps prevent fraud and protects against coercion or duress.

Verification of Signatures: Notaries verify the signatures on documents, confirming that they belong to the individuals named in the document. This can be crucial in legal proceedings or financial transactions where the identity of the signer is important.

When do I sign my document/

You will sign the document after we have verified your identity and only in front of a Notary Public.

What forms of identification do I need?

You will need to present current identification documents issued by the state or federal government that contain a photograph of you and your signature. For example, your current driver’s license or passport.

I have pets. Can they sit with us while we sign?

No. Although we have pets too, and we’d love to meet them, we don’t need to verify their IDs or signature. So we do ask that you secure your pets so they don’t distract us from getting your documents notarized! Just their cuteness alone can be distracting!
